The Mental Health Coalition of Sonoma County website is under renovation. Check back with us soon.
The Mental Health Coalition of Sonoma County, hereafter the MHCSC, is a countywide Coalition convener of individuals and organizations advocating for improved mental health and integrative health care. Recognizing the interconnectedness of physical, mental, and spiritual well-being, our primary goal is to create an integrative safety net to promote the overall health of Sonoma County with specific focus on mental health.
The MHCSC is an inclusive partnership that operates on the principles of collaboration, valuing relationships between its members (representatives of both public and private entities). Through creating durable and persuasive relationships in which separate organizations are brought into a new collaborative structure, a shared vision/mission is created, and well-defined communication occurs on all levels. Within this structure, all participants contribute resources and reputation.
As a community coalition, the direction of the MHCSC is determined by provide a strong, unified voice to our active involved membership. Therefore, the main decision making body is the Action Teams attended by our Members and Partners, with voting rights given to Partners. Action Teams are sanctioned by the Board of Directors to manifest the MHCSC goals and objectives. Partners of each Action Teams have voting rights to elect two Co-Chairs, these two representatives serve the dual purpose of conveners of their Action Teams and Board Members. Furthermore, the Co-Chairs are the liaison between the Action Teams and the Board of Directors. The Board of Directors is responsible for ensuring the scope of work of the Action Teams adheres to our Values and Mission as well as for fiscal and legal oversight.
