What is Mental Health?

A State of well-being in which the individual realizes their own abilities,
copes with the stress of life, and is engaged in their own well-being and
in the well-being of the community.

The Coalition Membership

Take Our Survey

The Mental Health Coalition of Sonoma County (MHCSC) is an inclusive partnership comprised of representatives of both public and private entities that operates on the principles of collaboration, valuing the relationships between its members. Through collaboration, we create more durable and persuasive partnerships in which separate organizations are brought into a new structure with a primary focus of improving mental healthcare services in Sonoma County through an integrative health model.

A shared vision and mission are created. Comprehensive planning is required, and well-defined communication occurs on all levels. Within this structure, each member contributes resources and reputation, and partners' pool or jointly secure resources. Risks are much greater; however the results and rewards are shared.

As a community coalition, the MHCSC is structured to provide a strong voice to our active involved membership. Teams are set up to carry out the vision and the decisions made at Symposium meetings attended by the active membership.

MHCSC membership is open to all Sonoma County organizations, public and private, and individuals sharing an interest in the integration of physical and mental health for the promotion and advocacy of mental health.

Membership shall be granted to any organization or individual that completes and submits a membership registration. All members must receive an orientation and be active on a team prior to receiving full membership privileges. Members understand and agree that as members they will collaborate to enhance each other's capacity for mutual benefit and common purpose to attain the intent of the Mental Health Coalition of Sonoma County.
